Ferrari changes technical structure Print E-mail

The Ferrari team has reshuffled its technical staff structure less than a month before the start of the new season and given technical manager Nigel Stepney a role away from the race track. Stepney had complained publicly about the structure at Ferrari a few weeks ago.

Renault happy with Bahrain progress Print E-mail

The Renault team continued testing at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain on Friday, ahead of the first race of the season on 18 March in Melbourne. Heikki Kovalainen and Nelson Piquet Jr continued with the technical programmes begun on Thursday. After working on endurance testing and race simulations during he first day, the two Renault drivers focused on set-up changes and tyre testing with technical partner Bridgestone.

Bahrain Day 2: Heidfeld shines Print E-mail

Nick Heidfeld dominated the timesheets on the second day of testing at Bahrain, setting a lap of 1:30.469s. The German was almost eight tenths quicker than second fastest Fernando Alonso, which suggests that BMW is indeed right on the pace in the build up to the 2007 season.

Rosberg praises FW29 Print E-mail

Williams driver Nico Rosberg is confident that the FW29 is a definite step in the right direction after a disappointing 2006 season for the Grove-based team. The German had a mixed maiden season last year, winning praise for his own performance but also being part of a team that suffered its worst championship result in almost 30 years. However, the 2005 GP2 champion thinks that 2007 could be a turnaround year.
